Take time to be Kind
One Week. Spread Happiness. Change the World.
February 10 – 16, 2020
Take Time to Be Kind is one week devoted to performing random and purposeful acts of kindness throughout the Lee’s Summit community. Community members, students and businesses are encouraged to participate – perhaps performing a good deed for a friend, neighbor or stranger – without the expectation of anything in return. It doesn’t take much to make someone’s day with a few kind words or actions.
Easy Ways to Give the Gift of Kindness
- Take time to tell someone how much they mean to you. Send a card, text or make a list of how this person brightens your life.
- Pitch in at home and do an unexpected chore for your parents. Take out the trash, unload the dishwasher, fold laundry.
- Walk your neighbor’s dog,
- Recognize a coworker for doing a good job. Tell them how much you appreciate them.
On Wednesday, February 12…wear yellow to support acts of kindness and use the hashtag #LSKindness to post acts of kindness you have witnessed during the week.
Take Time to Be Kind is made possible by the City of Lee’s Summit’s Human Relations Commission.
